Our Firm

Cusack Law Office LLC is here to help with difficult and personal matters. When people come to us upon the death of a loved one, we are equipped to provide the assistance necessary to handle the estate and other issues that arise as a result of the loss. When people are ready to work on their estate plan, we can inform about the options available and then create the documents that will make the appropriate plan work.

Our Philosophy

We want our clients to be the most informed legal consumers. We feel educating our clients will empower them to make the best possible choices about the legal matters they entrust to us. We strive to provide the best possible legal representation, specifically designed to our clients’ needs, at a reasonable cost.

Some law offices may try to tell you what is right for you. We believe that is not the best service to the client. We believe our job is to create a relationship and dialogue through which we each have equally important roles. We listen. You provide us with the information necessary to understand what is important to you. We want to know your goals and needs.

In addition to listening and understanding what is most important to you, our role involves educating you about the available options. We do not feel any particular services or documents fit everyone. We want you to understand how it all works. What are the potential benefits? What are the potential pitfalls? If we do our job right, you will have a solid grasp on the available options to meet your needs.

When we work together with our clients, we understand their needs and they understand the various ways to potentially achieve their goals. With our help and guidance, the clients make their own decisions. We then put those decisions into action.

Our support staff is comprised of qualified, helpful and friendly people committed to the team approach to client service. We utilize the particular skills of our staff and leverage the available technological resources to maximize efficiency for our clients.

We invite you to come see for yourself. Your initial consultation is always free.

David J. Cusack

Thank you for browsing this site. I am David J. Cusack. I am a 1985 graduate of Beavercreek High School, a 1990 Graduate of Wright State University and a 1994 graduate of the University of Akron School of Law. I began my legal career in the Greene County Prosecutor's Office. I gained great jury trial experience and a further appreciation for Greene County, Ohio while serving from 1994 to 1998. Looking to experience different areas of the practice of law, I accepted a position in the Dayton law firm of Freund, Freeze & Arnold in 1998.

The people at Freund Freeze & Arnold were great and the experience was tremendous, but the bigger firm was not for me. In 2000, I moved my practice back to Greene County. There I began to practice with Michael A. Mayer and then (before he became Common Pleas Judge) Stephen A. Wolaver. I knew both from my days as a prosecutor. The practice was basically a general practice but my part of the practice began to turn more and more toward estate planning, estate administration and probate cases.

As the years have seen more and more of my time dedicated to estates and estate planning, I have been truly rewarded with great satisfaction in the practice. I have a true passion for assisting clients in these very important and very personal matters. My passion for this area of the law has led me to teach different classes in the community. I teach classes through the Greene County Career Center Adult Education Program, the Greene County Council on Aging, the Fairborn Senior Center, and other places. Starting my own practice in Beavercreek gives me the opportunity to increase the focus of my practice even more in the estate and estate planning areas.

On the personal side, my wife, Denise, and I started our family in Xenia. We became active in our St. Brigid church community and with our sons in the local youth sports programs. Tragically, Denise lost a battle with colon cancer in April of 2010. I still live in Xenia with our young sons, Reed and Calvin.
